[PIO] Forest fire in Agios Ioannis Paphos under full control

The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that the fire that broke out yesterday, Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 05:20 in the community of Agios Ioannis Paphos, was fully controlled at 23:30 of the same day.

The fire burned an area of 8 hectares with pine trees, bushes and low wild vegetation.

13 persons of the Forestry Department with 3 fire engines and 1 fire engine of the Fire Service were involved in the extinguishing operation.

Forest fire-fighting forces remain in the area to deal with possible reignition.

The exact cause of the fire is being investigated.
