Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos will be in Brussels today, where he will participate in the 3rd Indo-Pacific Ministerial Meeting, the 24th EU - Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Ministerial Meeting and the EU Informal Council of Foreign Ministers (Gymnich).
The Indo-Pacific Ministerial Meeting, which will take place on 1-2 February, is co-organised by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, with the participation of EU Member States, countries of the Indo-Pacific region, and heads of regional organisations. On the afternoon of 2 February, the 24th EU Ministerial Meeting with ASEAN Member States will take place.
On 2-3 February, the Foreign Minister will participate in the Gymnich hosted by Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib, whose country holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU during the current semester (1/1/2024-30/6/2024). The proceedings will start on 2 February, with a dinner hosted by the Belgian Foreign Minister, to which the Foreign Ministers of the EU and ASEAN countries have been invited to participate. This will be followed by a full-day meeting of Foreign Ministers on 3 February, during which they will discuss EU-Africa relations, EU-Turkey relations, and EU support for Ukraine.
During his stay in the Belgian capital, Mr. Kombos will have contacts with his European counterparts, as well as separate meetings with Foreign Ministers of countries in the Indo-Pacific region and other officials.
