[PIO] Events for the International Museum Day at the State Gallery of Contemporary Art - Majestic on 10, 11, 17 and 18 May 2024

International Museum Day (18 May) is celebrated again this year under the title "Museums, Education and Research". The general programme of museums in Cyprus is coordinated by the ICOM Cyprus National Committee, which operates under the responsibility of the Department of Antiquities of the Ministry of Culture.

The State Gallery of Contemporary Art - Majestic is participating in this year's celebrations with various events on 10, 11, 17 and 18 May 2024, which emphasise the provision of equal access opportunities for different groups of the public. This day pushes for a more conscious, sustainable and inclusive world.

The programme includes a dance theatre performance, a hidden treasure hunt and an interactive art and theatre improvisation workshop for children and families, an art workshop for teenagers, an art theory workshop and an audiovisual performance for adult audiences.

This year's events for International Museum Day at the State Gallery are dedicated to art historian and curator Eleni S. Nikita (1947-2024) and her multifaceted work on Cypriot modern and contemporary art.
