The President of the Democratic Party-Coalition of Democratic Forces Mr. Marios Karoyan arrived today at the polling station of the 2nd Primary School of Egomi Parish, where he exercised his right to vote.
Subsequently, Mr. Karoyan made the following statement. The citizens have been listening, recording and weighing all this time. Now is the time of their own decision. I have no doubt that everything will go smoothly. After all, in our country we have a great tradition of proper procedure, full democracy and order, and this time I am sure the same will be repeated. Nor, of course, when we say love of country, service to society, are they abstract concepts. Neither hindsight, nor futile conflicts, nor confrontations can provide solutions. We will find solutions if we all, hand in hand, serve this country with dedication and selflessness and if we truly put the collective good above all else.
I invite citizens to participate in this process. It is their process. What happens in Europe has a reflection on what will happen in Cyprus. I hope their choices will be better for our country, in Europe, in the European Parliament. I hope and I am sure that the citizens with their vote and their judgement will also evaluate and choose the best local rulers in this reform. The country needs it; society needs it. We believe in the future of this country. We believe in the prospects of our society. I wish everyone a good vote."
