The Chief Electoral Officer reminds that according to the provisions of the current electoral legislation, the only designated signs with which voters can vote are the "X" or "+" or "√".
If the voter marks any other sign or letter by which his/her identity can be verified, the ballot paper will be invalid.
Voters shall vote by marking one of the designated points, inside the square located under the combination column or in the box next to the name of one of the individual candidates of their preference.
The voter is not entitled to vote for candidates from different combinations and/or individual candidates, as, in such a case, the ballot paper will be invalid.
It should be noted that, in case the voter chooses to vote for a combination, he/she may at the same time express his/her preference for candidates of the same combination by using preference crosses. The number of preference crosses may not exceed the number provided for by law for each type of election. Specifically, for the Election of Members of the European Parliament, a voter is entitled to up to two preference crosses; for the Election of Municipal Councillors and School Board Members, one preference cross for every four (4) seats; and for the Election of Community Council Members, one preference cross for every two (2) seats. It is emphasized that the maximum number of preference crosses is determined by the number of seats and NOT by the number of candidates in each combination.
Voters can be informed, specifically about their person, the polling station(s) at which they will vote, the polling stations in which they are entitled to vote, as well as the number of preference crosses, through the service "Where and What to Vote".
Also on the Elections website a video has been posted with instructions on how to vote correctly.
