The Chief Electoral Officer reminds that in accordance with the provisions of the current electoral legislation, on Saturday, 8 June 2024, and Sunday, 9 June 2024, i.e. the day before and on the day of voting, it is prohibited to broadcast, advertise or publish any news or announcement, with or without payment, that is directly or indirectly related to the elections, with the exception of announcements or news broadcast by or on the authority of the Chief Electoral Officer.

It is emphasized in this regard that public meetings and the organization of any speeches and public debates on any matters directly or indirectly related to the elections are also prohibited.

Offenders are guilty of a criminal offence and, on conviction, are liable to imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of up to €5.000 or both penalties together.
