[PIO] Deputy Minister of State for Research, Innovation and Digital Policy goes to Brussels

Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy Dr Nicodemus Damianou is travelling to Brussels today, where he will participate in the work of the EU Telecommunications Ministerial Council, which will take place tomorrow, 21 May 2024.

The focus of the Summit will be on shaping the European digital landscape, through major legislative and other initiatives such as the strengthening of the Digital Single Market, the Digital Services Act, the Artificial Intelligence Act, the Cyber Resilience Act and the Framework for a European Digital Identity. The Ministers will also exchange views on cybersecurity and digital skills issues, as well as on the need for coordination and cooperation between national authorities to accelerate digital transformation.

Subsequently, on 23 May, the Deputy Minister will participate in a Competitiveness Council on Space, where the future creation of a European Space Act establishing common rules for the safety, resilience and sustainability of space activities will be discussed.
