[PIO] Decision of the Council of Ministers regarding the adoption of immediate measures for the compensation and reactivation of farmers affected by

The Council of Ministers approved on 19 June 2024, on the proposal of the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, the granting of aid amounting to €2.8 million. EUR 2.8 million for the immediate relief of farmers affected by the fires that broke out on 31/05/2024 in the Municipality of Ipsona, Limassol District, on 11/06/2024 in areas of Paphos District and on 15/06/2024 in a community of Nicosia District.

The purpose of direct compensation is to ensure the viability of farmers and livestock farmers who have lost all or part of their agricultural production, means of production and infrastructure.

As an immediate assistance for the continuation of the agricultural and livestock activity of the affected persons, it has been decided to pay an initial advance financial aid of the total eligible damage per beneficiary.
