The Cyprus Organization for Standardization (CYS), in the framework of its mission and recognizing the need to involve the younger generation in standardization activities, is organizing a national workshop to attract and encourage more active participation of young people in the work of standardization. Standardisation benefits from the participation of young experts who, through their involvement in standardisation processes, will bring significant benefits to industry, the economy and society at large.
Through the European Programme "Erasmus+ - Small Scale Partnerships", CYS in cooperation with the German Electrotechnical Standardisation Organisation DKE-VDE, is organising a national workshop under the guidance and active contribution of German experts, in order to introduce innovative processes and approaches to attract the new generation of scientists to standardisation and its activities at European and international level.
The national workshop will take place on Monday 4 March 2024 in Nicosia.
This workshop aims to activate and mobilise the younger generation in the field of standardisation, aiming to enhance their participation in the relevant activities.
In addition, the topics of the workshop are focused on what standardisation is, the ways of involvement, the benefits of standardisation and, by extension, the new opportunities that can be given to young scientists on a professional level by involving them in standardisation activities.

The workshop is addressed to students from the fields of electrical engineering and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), who are expected to form the core of the Agency's effort to further enhance the involvement of young scientists in standardisation. Through this approach, the workshop seeks to encourage knowledge exchange, create new partnerships and open up avenues for professional development in the field of standardisation for young people.
