The Great Britain - Cyprus Business Association (GBCY), the business association that helps build business relationships and enhance business opportunities between companies based in Great Britain and Cyprus, and the Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation (CYS), the national standards body of Cyprus, have announced a new strategic partnership.
CYS Director of Standardization Mr. Pambos Kammas and GBCY Founder and President Mr. Savvas Kyriakides met on 5 January 2024 to identify the specific areas of this new cooperation.
This strategic partnership represents an important step forward as it aims to support GBCY members using the services and solutions offered by CYS. The establishment of this alliance has the potential to help companies in all sectors accelerate progress towards a safer and more sustainable future, as well as enhance their competitiveness and performance. In particular, the partnership is designed to bring multiple benefits to GBCY members, including increased networking opportunities among key players in the standards space, access to industry-specific trends and current information on market standards to improve the quality, safety and integrity of products, services and processes. In addition, through this collaboration, stakeholders will benefit from the opportunity to participate in local and international business events, webinars and trainings. Sharing knowledge through the use of best practice standards contributes to improved performance, sustainable development, risk management and resilience in the ever-evolving business landscape.
This new partnership aligns with GBCY's commitment to promote networking opportunities for companies based in the UK and Cyprus. Accordingly, the announcement is in line with CYS's vision "to continuously raise the level of quality in all sectors of the economy and society through the promotion and implementation of standards".
GBCY and CYS are natural partners with a common goal and are keen to establish a strong and scalable strategic partnership, ultimately enhancing synergies between stakeholders.
