Announcement by the Office of the Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities
In the framework of the National Strategy for the Development of Mountain Communities and specifically the action concerning the attraction of local and foreign universities in Troodos, a meeting was held today between the Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities, Mr. Kostas Hambiaouris, the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Mr. Andreas Grigorios, the Director of the Forestry Department Mr. Haralambos Alexandrou, the Rector of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) Mr. Panagiotis Zafiris and the Director of Administration and Finance of CUT Mr.
The meeting was held at the premises of the Forestry College in Prodromos and aimed at exploring cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture, the Department of Forestry and CTEPAK in the areas of educational programs, as well as the utilization of the infrastructure of the Forestry College by the University.

The parties agreed to proceed with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation in the near future.
