Based on the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 21 December 2021, the period of validity of the Certificate of Disease is reduced from 180 days to 90 days. This change will take effect from 31 January 2022 and will apply to all holders of the Certificate, regardless of whether they have issued it before that date.
It is clarified that, these Certificates will continue to be issued through the www[/B]eudccgovcy platform and the effective date of the Certificate will be the individual's release date. It will be valid for domestic use up to 90 days from the date of the first positive laboratory test, as specified in the relevant decree.
Please note that the Certificate of Infection will continue to indicate a validity of 180 days from the date of the first positive laboratory test which is the maximum period allowed by the relevant European Regulation and therefore can be used by citizens for travel purposes. Note that in case of travel, the passenger should consult the Re-open EU website or application (reopen.europa.eu) or the national authorities of the country of arrival for information on the acceptable validity of the certificate, which is likely to be 180 days or less in other countries.
