Today's daily newspaper report on the OEDA (Integrated Waste Management Facility) Pentakomo describes a situation that has been operating incorrectly since 2017 as a result of the contractor's failure to fulfill the provisions of the contract.
The State made the brave decision to take delivery of this facility knowing that it was receiving a chaotic situation in an effort to end years of mistakes, for which there are ongoing legal proceedings.
The proper operation and upgrading of the Pendakomou Waste Management Plant in the context of the holistic and proper management of all waste management facilities and infrastructure, as envisaged in our strategy, is our main priority, on the basis of which we are working with dedication.
At the moment all the relevant departments are managing an emergency situation, due to the multiple and perennial problems that have arisen.
