The Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts, pursuant to Article 27 of the Law on the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Law 167(I)/2017 and Regulations (40) (41) (45) and (46) of the Regulations on the Operation of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts of 2019, announces the Award of the Republic of Cyprus in the Order of Letters and Arts for 2024.
According to Article 14 of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts Law of 2017, the Class of Letters and Arts (Class B) includes literature, poetry, history, archaeology, folklore, architecture, fine arts and humanities in general.
The Award consists of a gold medal and an honorary diploma, and will be awarded by the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts (the Academy) at the Academy's Gala Session in December 2024.
The Award is presented to distinguished and leading personalities in the sciences, letters or arts who have made significant contributions and recognised achievements in their field. The Award is a recognition of personalities associated with Cyprus who have made a decisive contribution to the development of the sciences, letters or arts in Cyprus or abroad.
Candidates for the Award may be persons of Cypriot origin or citizens of the Republic of Cyprus, irrespective of their place of residence, or citizens of foreign origin permanently residing in Cyprus who are leaders in their field with internationally recognised and significant contributions. Their contribution and contribution to Cyprus shall be taken into account in the evaluation process.
A candidate may self-nominate or be nominated by any person(s) provided that the candidate is aware of the nomination. Nominations shall be submitted by the nominator by e-mail to the Academy's e-mail address and must be supported by a reasoned essay, a detailed curriculum vitae in Greek and/or English and any other supporting documents.
Interested parties may submit their nomination for the Award of the Republic of Cyprus electronically to info@academyofcyprus.cy with the information/documents until 19 March 2024 at 18:00.
Submission of a nomination that is not accompanied by the information/documents provided will not be considered.
