The Supreme Court today issued decisions in two appeals filed by the Attorney General of the Republic, following the refusal of the Nicosia District Court to issue temporary suspension orders on the asphalt plants and/or factories in the industrial areas of Gerion and Cherion.
The Supreme Court, upholding the two appeals, issued orders prohibiting the operation of the asphalt plants in question with effect 21 days after the date of service of the relevant orders and until the conclusion of the lawsuits or until another order of the Court.
As it is known, the Nicosia District Court had rejected in the first instance the requested interim orders for the suspension of operations of the asphalt plants in the industrial areas in question in March 2021.
The Attorney General of the Republic was represented in the first instance and in the appeal proceedings by the Assistant Attorney General Mr. Savvas Angelides and the Attorneys at Law of the Republic I Mr. Dimitra Papamiltiadou and Louisa Grigoriou.
