[PIO] Armenian Foreign Minister paid a working visit to Cyprus

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan visited Cyprus today, Monday, July 29, 2024, at the invitation of Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombou.

In the framework of the working visit, the two Ministers had a private meeting and then attended extended consultations with the participation of delegations of the two Ministries.

The discussions focused on Cyprus-Armenia bilateral relations and their further strengthening, with the two Ministers welcoming the forthcoming opening of the Embassies of Cyprus and Armenia in Yerevan and Nicosia, respectively.

Mr. Kobos also briefed his counterpart on the latest developments in the Cyprus issue, expressing the Government's thanks for Armenia's principled stance over time. In addition, the two officials exchanged views on European Union (EU)-Armenia relations, the situation between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as on a number of other issues related to regional and international developments. As part of his visit, Mr. Mirzoyan will be received by the President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Christodoulides this afternoon. In the morning, he attended and addressed the Annual Meeting of the Heads of Diplomatic Missions of the Republic of Cyprus, which is being held in Nicosia.
