1. Replacement of signalling equipment in the Limassol and Paphos Districts
The Department of Public Works of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that as of 25/3/2024 the replacement of obsolete signalling equipment by a private company started in 47 light-controlled intersections and 31 pedestrian crossings of Pelican type in the Limassol and Paphos area, with a new type of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) with LED lamps, a Pedestrian Countdown system and a touch-type pedestrian demand system.
The equipment replacement work at each location will be completed within one day, barring contingency, and during the work the light-controlled intersections and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service. If necessary, temporary traffic lights will be installed.
During the week 13/05/2024 - 19/05/2024 work will be carried out at the following intersections/pedestrian crossings. Kyprianou / G. Neophytou (Traffic lights-Lemesos) [*]Ave. Agios Athanasios / A. 2. The Department of Public Works, Larnaca District Engineer's Office of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that during the period 14/5/2024 - 27/5/2024, daily, except weekends, between 08:30 - 15:00, on sections of the Larnaca - Nicosia, Larnaca - Ayia Napa and Larnaca - Kofinou motorways in the Larnaca District, safety barrier maintenance works will be carried out.
During the execution of the works, one lane will be partially closed for a length of approximately 200m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
3. Maintenance works in Larnaca District
The Department of Public Works, Larnaca District Engineer's Office of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, announces that, on Monday, May 13, 2024, between the hours of 08:30 - 15:00, maintenance works on safety parapets will be carried out on sections of the Athiinou - Aradippou road in Larnaca District.
During the execution of the works, one lane of traffic will be partially closed for a length of 50m. The Department of Public Works apologizes for the inevitable inconvenience that will be caused and invites the public to show the necessary understanding and compliance with the temporary road signs and the instructions of the Police.
