The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that on Monday 20/5/2024 and Tuesday 21/5/2024, from 09:00 until 17:00 in the afternoon, temporary concrete barriers will be installed along the shoulder of the A1 motorway in the direction from Limassol to Nicosia, at the height of the Alambra bridge.
During the works, the left lane of the road will be closed to traffic for approximately 200m and drivers are advised to use the adjacent lane.
2) Replacement works of obsolete signalling equipment in the greater Limassol and Paphos area
The Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that from 25/03/2024 the replacement works of obsolete signalling equipment by a private company in 47 light-controlled intersections and 31 Pelican-type pedestrian crossings in the wider Limassol and Paphos area with new Extra Low Voltage (ELV) type with LED lamps, Pedestrian Countdown system and touch-type pedestrian demand system started.
The equipment replacement work at each location will be completed within one day, unless unexpected, and during the work the light-controlled intersections and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service, unless temporary traffic lights are installed if necessary.

3) Replacement of safety barriers on sections of the Limassol - Nicosia motorway
The Limassol District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that, during the period 27/5/2024 - 28/6/2024, from 21:00 until 06:00 in the morning of the following day, every day, except Fridays and weekends, safety barrier replacement works will be carried out on sections of the Limassol - Nicosia motorway, on the section from Moni junction to New Hospital junction in both directions.
During the works, one lane of the motorway will be partially closed for 200m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
The Department of Public Works apologizes for the unavoidable inconvenience that will be caused and urges the public to show due understanding and comply with the temporary road signs and police instructions.
