1. Works for cutting/pruning and harvesting of acacia and other trees in Larnaca District
The Larnaca District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that during the period from 11/12/2023 to 5/3/2024, between the hours of 08:30 - 15:00, work will be carried out for cutting/pruning and picking acacia and other trees from the embankments and slopes along the entire length of the Larnaca - Ayia Napa motorway in both directions, including junctions.
During the execution of the works, the motorway embankment will be closed in sections and traffic will remain in the lanes as normal without the embankment.
2. Closed roads in Nicosia District
The Nicosia Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that on Sunday 10/12/2023, from 06:00 in the morning until 13:00 at the latest, the following roads in Nicosia will be closed to traffic due to a charity running race called "Quantum Nicosia Marathon 2023":
- Omirou Avenue
- Stasinou Avenue (North Section)
- Agios Hilarionos Avenue from its junction with Archbishop Makarios III to the roundabout "Bata"
- Agios Hilarionos Avenue from the roundabout "Bata" - the direction towards Aglantzia (Sopaz junction) will be closed
- Andrea Zakou Avenue
- Famagusta Avenue
- Larnakos Avenue from the roundabout to its junction with Famagusta towards University of Cyprus - the direction towards University of Cyprus will be closed
- Athalassa Street from the University Campus roundabout to its junction with Archbishop Makarios III at Geri from the junction of Larnaca Avenue with Kalamon Street to the traffic lights at the Karaiskakio Foundation
- Athalassa Street (E101) from the traffic lights of Agios Georgios to the motorway.
- Limassol Street (B1) from its junction with Athalassa Avenue (E101) to the Mall of Cyprus junction (former Stefanidi)
During the above event, all necessary arrangements will be made for the smooth and safe diversion of traffic through adjacent roads.

The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, announces that on Saturday 9/12/2023 and Sunday 10/12/2023, between 06:00 - 17:00, on Limassol Avenue, at the height of the junction with National Guard Street and for a distance of approximately 100 meters, dismantling works of a construction crane will be carried out in the direction of the junction of Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue and Digeni Akrita.
During the execution of the works, traffic will be routed as follows. On Saturday, the two left lanes in the direction of Nicosia city centre will remain closed to traffic and traffic will be routed through the third lane,
B. On Sunday the left lane will remain closed to traffic and traffic will be routed through the other two lanes.
4. The Limassol District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that during the period 11/12/2023 - 31/1/2024, except Fridays and weekends, between the hours of 23:30 in the evening to 05:30 in the morning of the next day, rainwater collection manholes will be cleaned at the roundabouts of the Parakabtirio Limassol Road and at the entrances and exits from the roundabouts to Parakabtirio.
During the works, one lane of each intersection or exit - entrance to the intersection will be closed at any time and traffic will be diverted to the other lane.
5. The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that on Sunday 10/12/2023, between 06:00 - 16:00, at Limassol Avenue in Nissou, at the height of its junction with Aegean Street and Kilkis Street and for a distance of approximately 100 meters, trench excavation works will be carried out for the installation of an underground cable of the AEC.
During the execution of the works, the Avenue will remain closed for traffic in both directions and traffic will be routed through Karavas and Alikos Potamos streets.
The Department of Public Works apologizes for the unavoidable inconvenience that will be caused and urges the public to show due understanding and comply with temporary road markings and police instructions.
