[PIO] Announcements of the Department of Public Works for the execution of works in the Districts of Larnaca, Nicosia and Limassol

1. Pruning works in Larnaca District

The Larnaca District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that during the period 25/6/2024 - 13/8/2024, from Monday to Thursday, between 08:30 - 15:30, pruning and watering works will be carried out on the main islands of all motorways in Larnaca District by the Forestry Department, as follows:

(a) during the period 25/6/2024 - 31/7/2024, on the Larnaca Airport - Ayia Napa motorway, from the Kalo Choriou roundabout to the Rizoelia roundabout and on the Larnaca - Nicosia motorway from the Rizoelia roundabout to the exit to Nissou and

in the period 8/7/2024 - 13/8/2024, on the Larnaca - Kofinou motorway, starting at 400m.

During the execution of the works, the lane adjacent to the central island of the motorway will be closed in sections from both directions for a length of 1.5km at a time

2. Larnaca District Cycling Race

The Larnaca District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that on Wednesday 26/6/2024, between 06:30 - 12:00, on the Pervolion - Mazotos bypass road, in Larnaca, a race of the Cyprus Road Cycling Championship in individual time trial will be held by the Cyprus Cycling Federation.

During the races, the section of the Mazotos - Pervolia Road (Thessaloniki Avenue), from the beach 'Petutas' in Mazotos and for a length of about 10 km towards Pervolia from both directions will be closed and traffic will be directed through adjacent roads with the assistance of the Police.

3. Green maintenance works in Nicosia District

The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces thatfrom Monday 8/7/2024 to Wednesday 10/7/2024, between 09:00 - 12:45 green maintenance works will be carried out on the central islands, by the Municipality of Lakatameia, from the Anthoupolis roundabout to the junction with Anthoupolis Street.

During the execution of the works, the adjacent traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed for a length of approximately 100 - 200 m. at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane.

4. Green maintenance works in Lakatameia

The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that from Tuesday 25/6/2024 until Friday 28/6/2024, between 09:00 - 12:45, on parts of Makarios C' Avenue, Pantelis Katelaris, Melinas Mercouri and Agios Georgios, green maintenance works will be carried out by the Municipality of Lakatameia.

During the execution of the works, the adjacent traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed for a length of approximately 100 - 200 m. at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane.

5. Pavement repair on the Nicosia - Limassol motorway

The Limassol District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that from Tuesday 25/6/2024 until Thursday 27/6/2024, between the hours of 21:00 in the evening until 06:00 in the morning of the following day, local road surface repair works will be carried out on the Nicosia - Limassol motorway (A1), on the section from Skarinou to Zygi.

During the execution of the works, both lanes of the motorway in the direction from Nicosia to Limassol will be partially closed for a length of 3km. The Department of Public Works apologises for the inevitable inconvenience that will be caused and invites the public to show the necessary understanding and patience and to comply with the temporary road signs and the instructions of the Police.
