The Larnaca Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (LRCRC) announces that today, 29 August 2024, at 15:43, it received information about a missing person in the marine area "Agios Georgios Peyia" in Paphos District.
The KSEED immediately proceeded with the implementation of the National Plan "NEARCHOS", mobilizing a foot patrol of the Pafos Police Department, a boat of the Port and Maritime Police, lifeguards of the Pafos District Administration, as well as a helicopter of the 460 Search and Rescue Squadron of the Air Force Command of the General Staff of the National Guard (GEF), on board of which a qualified nurse of the Special Air Ambulance Team of the Ambulance Service was on board.
The missing man, aged 31, was found without signs of life and was taken to Paphos General Hospital, where the doctor on duty confirmed his death.
