[PIO] Announcement of the Presidency of the Republic

The President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Christodoulides today appointed Mr. George Arrestis, former Judge of the Supreme Court of Cyprus, to the post of Special Adviser on Ethics.

The framework for the exercise of the responsibilities of the Ethics Adviser is set out in the Code of Conduct for Members of the Government, as approved by the Council of Ministers in October 2023.

The appointment of the Ethics Adviser is part of the implementation of the Greco Commission's recommendations during the fifth evaluation round and is expected to contribute to the promotion of the principles of "good governance", based on the provisions of the said Code.

The Special Adviser on Ethics will provide his/her services on an unpaid basis.
