The Government welcomes with satisfaction the Progress Report of the Council of Europe's Moneyval Committee, which documents the significant progress, improvement and compliance of the Republic of Cyprus on its recommendations to tackle money laundering and combat the financing of terrorism.
In particular, it is significant that Moneyval finds that the Republic of Cyprus has achieved the general expectation, corrected and complied with the vast majority of international standards for combating money laundering and illicit terrorist financing within 2023.
The Government underlines its unwavering commitment to the continued compliance of the Republic of Cyprus with international standards and the necessary measures to be taken where and when required to ensure that our country meets all international standards regarding the fight against illicit money laundering as well as the fight against the financing of terrorism.
