From 03 to 07 June 2024, the large-scale National Inter-Border Tactical Post-Troop Exercise (TAMS) "Nikitis-Dimitra 2024" took place with the participation of all personnel and assets of the National Guard (NF).
The exercise was conducted in the land, sea and airspace of the free territory of the Republic of Cyprus, while the phases of the exercise involved reservists, National Guardsmen and the National Guard Group of the Hellenic Armed Forces. State institutions and agencies involved in providing support to the AF also participated, under the coordination of the Central Civil Contingency Planning Service (CYPSEA) of the Ministry of Defence.
The purpose of the exercise was to train personnel in decision-making procedures, to translate them into instructions and orders during periods of tension, crisis and operations, to evaluate the operational tools of the recruitment system and plans, as well as to test the Logistics system.

The Chief of the AF, Lieutenant General George Tsitsikostas, attended phases of the exercise, which took place at various firing and training ranges, where he gave instructions and directions and congratulated the personnel for the excellent planning and preparation, as well as for the high level of training and combat capability under particularly demanding conditions.
Part of the exercise was attended by the Minister of Defence, Mr. Vassilis Palmas, in the presence of the Chief of Defence.
