[PIO] Announcement of the Minor State Aid Scheme of the Ministry of Social Welfare for 2022

The Ministry of Social Welfare, through the Social Welfare Services, annually provides state grants through the State Aid De Minimis Scheme under Commission Regulation 360/2012 (known as De Minimis) for the provision of Services of General Economic Interest,to Non-Profit Organisations and Local Authorities, which operate programmes falling within the Social Care Sector.

Such programmes include Homes for the Elderly and Disabled, Adult Centres, Infant and Child Care Centres, Child Protection and Employment Centres, 24-hour and two-day care programmes for the disabled, and others, and serve annually about 9,000 adults and children.

State aid is given for the purpose of establishing, operating, expanding or constructing their operating facilities.

For the grant for the year 2022, applications will be accepted from January 04, 2022 through February 11, 2022. Audited 2020 accounts must be submitted with the application.

The application will be evaluated in the first quarter of the grant year, as it will be submitted with no deficiencies or outstanding balances in order for the entity to receive 50% of the State Aid. The remaining 50% will be granted from September of the grant year, provided that the Institution submits a Budget Implementation Statement for the period January to the end of June 2022 (Annex D') , audited accounts of the previous grant year, as well as a semi-annual self-assessment report (Annex G').

The relevant Social Services Officers are at the disposal of each interested body to provide relevant guidance.
