Appointment of criminal investigators
Following an initiative of the Minister of Justice and Public Order, as a result of allegations that came to his knowledge about the presence of members of the Police and/or their involvement in the case of the Monastery of Saint Avvakum, a discussion took place between the Minister and Messrs. The Minister and the Attorney General of the Republic and the Assistant Attorney General of the Republic, with a view to both the unhindered continuation of the criminal investigations and the objective investigation and evaluation of the various conflicting allegations made by the parties involved, including, inter alia, allegations of involvement of members of the Police and other persons.
In order to ensure the above, the Deputy Attorney General of the Republic, Mr. 155, has decided to appoint Mr. Nino Kekko, Senior Advocate of the Republic and Mr. George Papaioannou, Advocate, as Criminal Investigators, to conduct inquiries in collaboration with the Police Investigators, regarding the possible commission of any criminal offences by any person.
