The Larnaca Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (LRCRC), on 30 September 2023 at 11:00, received information from the Port and Maritime Police Command regarding two persons in distress in the Limassol Bay sea area.
The CPSD immediately activated the National Search and Rescue Plan (NRSP) "NEARCHOS" by mobilizing a vessel of the Port and Maritime Police, as well as a helicopter of the Police Air Operations Unit (AOU) to conduct an NRSP operation.
The two persons were located and rescued by an aircraft of the MAEP, delivered at 12:00pm to an ambulance of the Ambulance Service of the OCYPY and evacuated to the Larnaca General Hospital.
