The General Accounting Office of the Republic, with a view to the equal treatment of citizens and applying the provisions of the Law on Accounting and Financial Management and Financial Control of the Republic (Law No.38(I)/2014), publishes the grants and donations of the State for the year 2023, as they are included in the relevant articles of the State Budget.
Sponsorships and donations by grace
Sponsorships are State benefits, which are disbursed from the Budget to finance actions of legal and/or natural persons aimed at
[A](a) promoting the achievement of a specific objective or business activity and/or
(b) providing financial support to legal and/or natural persons with regard to their operational costs.
For example, donations are sums of money granted by the Budget as contributions to legal and/or natural persons to cover specific needs.
Transparency and accountability in the financial transactions of the State, principles that govern the regulatory framework of public financial management, allow the citizen to make State agencies more accountable.
The disclosure relates specifically to relevant payments in excess of five thousand euros paid to natural and/or legal persons in the year 2023 by expenditure item for each Ministry / Deputy Ministry / Department / Agency of the Government.
