The 3rd Mediterranean Finance Summit, organised by the Association of Cyprus Certified Public Accountants (ACCA), will be successfully held on 23 - 24 May 2024, with the participation of distinguished speakers from the financial and business world, both from Cyprus and abroad.

The conference was opened with an opening presentation by Mr. Andreas Antoniadis, Accountant General of the Republic, who shared with the CFOs and other key decision makers the vision and actions of the General Accounting Office of the Republic to modernise the management of public resources in Cyprus.

In order for the General Accounting Office to be able to effectively support public financial management and public procurement management, as Mr Antoniades mentioned, a number of reforms are being promoted in the context of simplifying and digitising processes by reviewing the regulatory framework, introducing new technological tools, upgrading systems, as well as introducing regulations that promote sustainable development.

Mr Antoniades, closing his presentation, stressed the need for "change in order to be able to respond to the future before the future becomes the past."

The presentation of the Accountant General of the Republic is posted at this link.

The 3rd Mediterranean Finance Summit concludes today with an analysis of issues related to the need to develop the adaptability and resilience of modern organisations in order to be able to deal effectively with the challenges that are rapidly emerging in today's economic, business and banking environment.
