The Department of Environment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment informs the public that following several requests submitted by distributors, supermarkets and shops to allow the sale of quantities of beverage containers, which have already been placed on the market before 3/7/2024 and which do not comply with the provisions of Article 36F of the Waste Law regarding the attachment of their caps and lids, an extension is granted for the availability of these products until 31/10/2024.
This was decided after taking into account both the environmental impact of destroying these products as waste and the economic impact on the market and consumers.
It should be clarified that this extension concerns pure beverage containers with a capacity of up to three litres, which were placed on the market before 3/7/2024 with a view to their exhaustion, and does not concern stocks held by producers and importers.
