[PIO] Announcement of the Education Service for the submission of applications for appointment by contract in primary schools (special education) for

The Education Service Commission wishes to inform all interested parties that it invites applications for the following contractual appointments in Primary Education (Special Education), to fill seven posts in schools which have arisen since the beginning of the school year.

Eligible to apply for these positions are candidates who are on the lists of Special Education Teachers to be appointed and/or appointed for the specialties of (a) Special Learning Mental Functional and Adaptive Disabilities and (b) Speech and Language Therapy, and who are not already appointed or have not received a full-time contract appointment in Elementary Education during the 2023-2024 school year.

Interested persons are invited to select in order of preference those of the seven positions below that interest them by submitting an application by Friday, January 18, 2024 at 12:00 p.m., in electronic format only, by completing the online form EEY21 on the Commission's website from the "Applications" interface.

(a) For the specialty of Special Learning Cognitive Functional and Adaptive Disabilities:

(b) For the specialty of Speech and Language Therapy:

Candidates for appointment will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis from the lists of Special Teachers (Special Learning Mental Functional and Adaptive Difficulties) and Special Teachers (Speech and Language Therapy). It is stressed that no change/improvement will be made for any reason.

Candidates who will be eligible for appointment should obtain from the appropriate Police office and submit to the Commission, by e-mail at info@eey.gov.cy, within 7 days from the date of notification of appointment, the following certificates:

(a) A certificate issued in accordance with the Prevention and Combating of Sexual Abuse, Sexual Exploitation of Children and Child Pornography Act (Law 91(I)/2014, Article 22(6)), certifying that they are not included in the register maintained under the provisions of that Article. It is emphasized that such certificate must have been issued within the last 2 months from the effective date of the appointment.

(b) A certificate of clean criminal record, which must have been issued within the last 2 months of the effective date of appointment.

It is emphasized that no offer of appointment letter will be sent to a candidate who fails to submit the above mentioned certificates.

It is clarified that if such person is not a Cypriot citizen, he/she will be required to produce the relevant certificates from the competent authority of his/her country.
