The Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that, as of 06/09/2023, the replacement of obsolete signalling equipment by a private company in 33 light-controlled intersections and 12 pedestrian crossings of Pelican type in the greater Larnaca and Famagusta area has started, with a new type of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) with LED lamps, a Pedestrian Countdown system and a touch-type pedestrian demand system.
The equipment replacement work at each location will be completed within one day - barring contingency - and during the work the light-controlled intersections and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service. If necessary, temporary traffic lights will be installed.
During the week 11/12/2023 - 17/12/2023, work will be conducted at the following intersections/pedestrian crossings. Γ. Kranidioti (Pedestrian Crossing, Larnaca) [*]L. The Department of Public Works apologizes for the inevitable inconvenience that will be caused and invites the public to demonstrate the necessary understanding and compliance with the temporary road markings.
