[PIO] Announcement of the Department of Agriculture regarding the submission of crop declarations for tree crops, vines and seasonal species

The Department of Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment informs the owners or managers of holdings with tree crops, vines and/or seasonal crops that, for risk management purposes, it is necessary to submit a Crop Declaration for the following types of crops/cases:

(a) Pomegranates, lotuses, kiwis, figs

(b) Walnut

(c) Olives

(d) Increased yield with increased contribution: Applies to deciduous trees, citrus, olives, avocado, mango, pomegranates and vines

(e) Orchard

(f) Permanent flowering plants not included in the Extensive Payment Scheme of the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Agency (CAP)

(g) Seasonal crops including seasonal flowering plants

(h) In case a crop declared to the CAP also contains a crop category, whose contribution is higher than that declared to the CMO.

The last dates for submitting a crop declaration are as follows:

1. Pomegranates, lotuses, kiwis, figs: 15 March
2. Walnuts: 15 March
3. Olives: 15 March
4. Deciduous: 15 March
5. Vines: 15 March
6. Avocados, mangoes: 31 May
7. Citrus: 15 June
8. Permanent flowering plants not included in the COPA's Extensive Payment Plan: 15 March
9. Seasonal crops including seasonal flowering plants: up to 21 days from planting.

In addition, those tree crop growers who do not apply to the Extensive Payment Scheme for the specific parcels, in order to be eligible for damage payments, must submit a Crop Declaration within the above timelines.
