The Cyprus Rural Payments Agency receives many complaints from applicants about the reduced amount of the Extensive Subsidy and for this purpose informs the following:
- The CAP is implementing the decisions of the Management Committee (Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment) - European Union Directives and Legislation, which has decided for the New CAP 2023-2027 to reduce the amount of Direct Payments, while at the same time subsidizing new environmentally friendly interventions (echo schemes).
- For the above additional interventions (certified seed, compost, disadvantaged areas, disinfection, etc.) a presentation was made at the regional meetings of both the CAP and the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment and was in agreement with the Farmers' Organisations. In addition, these interventions are presented in detail in the manual of the New CAP.
