On the occasion of the global action "Earth Hour", which this year is set for Saturday 23 March 2024, the Office of the Environment Commissioner is organising an event at Faneromeni Square, Nicosia, at 20:00. The event will include an artistic performance and other activities. In the same context, under the auspices of the Environment Commissioner, the theatrical concert "Colours" will take place on Monday 25 March 2024 without the use of electricity.

The planet is begging us to change our habits and Earth Hour reminds us of our inextricable and non-negotiable relationship with nature and allows us to unite globally by sending a resounding message, individually and collectively. The message can be no other than the urgent need to shift towards more sustainable environmental choices, to restore nature, to protect biodiversity and, in general, to limit anthropogenic activities, especially those that damage the environment.

Environment Commissioner Antonia Theodosiou expresses her thanks to the Youth of Ecologists for co-organising the event, the Municipality of Nicosia for all the facilities provided for the event, the Nicosia Music School, as well as to all the supporters of the event, the Cyprus Energy Office, the Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Association, the Ecological Movement of Cyprus and the 10th Cyprus Ecological Forum.10 COSMOS, for their cooperation and organisation of the activities.

On 23 March, 20:30-21:30, we turn off the lights to light up a better future!

We invite you to actively participate in the most important hour for the planet and humans.
