[PIO] Announcement by the Ministry of Health on new cases of COVID-19, 5 April 2022

The Ministry of Health announces that today, 5 April 2022:

- 3 deaths

- Related to:

  1. Male, aged 96 years, who died on 4 April
  2. Female, aged 71 years, who died on 4 April
  3. Female, aged 87 years, who died on 5 April

- Total number of deaths with a terminal cause of COVID-19: 949.

- 207 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized in OCYP hospitals

- 30 in serious condition (ICU: 4 off ventilator/6 intubated, NICU: 20)

- Percentage of inpatients with no history of vaccination: 56.04%

- 13 patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be intubated due to COVID in an ICU.

Diagnostic tests:

- A total of 84,718 diagnostic tests

- 2,987 new cases were identified (total cases 446.999)

- Positivity rate in all tests 3.53%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):[/B]

- 3.429 molecular tests

- 287 positive cases

- Positivity rate 8.37%

Total number of rapid antigen detection tests (RapidTest):

- 81.289 rapid antigen detection tests

- 2,700 positive cases

- Positivity rate 3.32%

Tracing:

- 1.573 molecular tests were performed and 60 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 3,81%)

- 567 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 50 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 8,82%)

Private initiative:

- Conducted 1.107 molecular tests, 162 positive cases detected (positivity rate 14.63%)

- 31,476 rapid antigen detection tests performed, 1.779 positive cases (positivity rate 5.65%)

Through the Ministry of Health programmes, 49,813 rapid antigen detection tests were performed. 921 positive cases were detected.

- Sampling points: 13,470 rapid detection tests detected 604 positive cases (positivity rate 4,48%)

Education

- Primary education: 18.691 rapid antigen detection tests, 98 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0.52%)

- Secondary Education: 10.582 rapid detection tests detected 61 positive cases (positivity rate 0.58%)

- Test-to-Stay: 4.258 rapid antigen detection tests and 51 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 1.2%)

Other

- Welfare homes: 1.283 rapid antigen detection tests, 51 positive cases detected (positivity rate 3.98%)

- Closed facilities: 483 rapid antigen detection tests performed, 3 new cases detected (positivity rate 0.62%)

- Closed facilities: 483 rapid antigen detection tests performed, 3 new cases detected (positivity rate 0.62%).

- Government services: 479 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 3 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.63%)
