[PIO] Announcement by the Ministry of Health on new cases of COVID-19, 28 February 2022

The Ministry of Health announces that today, 28 February 2022:

- 2 deaths

- Related to:

  1. Male, aged 67 years, who died on 27 February
  2. Female, aged 80 years, who died on 28 February

- Total number of deaths with a terminal cause of COVID-19: 856.

- 150 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized in the hospitals of the OCYP

- 37 in serious condition (ICU: 1 off ventilator/14 intubated, NICU: 22)

- Percentage of inpatients with no history of vaccination: 60%

- 20 patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be intubated due to COVID in an ICU.

Diagnostic tests:

- A total of 128,114 diagnostic tests

- A total of 2,356 new cases were identified (total cases 322.516)

- Positivity rate in all tests 1.84%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):[/B]

- 9.513 molecular tests

- 358 positive cases

- Positivity rate 3.76%

Total number of rapid antigen detection tests (RapidTest):

- Performed 118.601 rapid antigen detection tests

- 1.998 positive cases

- Positivity rate 1.68%

Tracing:

- 380 molecular tests were performed and 45 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 11,84%)

- 727 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 50 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 6.88%)

Private initiative:

- Conducted 1.836 molecular tests, 203 positive cases detected (positivity rate 11.06%)

- 59,779 rapid antigen detection tests performed, 1.347 positive cases (positivity rate 2.25%)

Through the Ministry of Health programmes, 58,822 rapid antigen detection tests were performed. 651 positive cases were detected.

- Sampling points: 17,229 rapid detection tests detected 379 positive cases (positivity rate 2,2%)

Education

- Primary education: 20.170 rapid antigen detection tests, 72 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0.36%)

- Secondary Education: 11.841 rapid detection tests detected 57 positive cases (positivity rate 0.48%)

- Test-to-Stay: 4.804 rapid antigen detection tests and 65 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 1.35%)

- Special Schools: 722 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and no positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0%)

Other

- National Guard: 331 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 1 positive case was identified (positivity rate 0.3%)

- Welfare homes: 1 1.477 rapid antigen detection tests, 21 positive cases detected (positivity rate 1.42%)

- Closed facilities: 169 rapid antigen detection tests performed, 3new cases detected (positivity rate 1.78%).

- Government agencies: 1.074 rapid antigen detection tests and 3 positive cases detected (positivity rate 0.28%)

- Industrial areas: 278 rapid antigen detection tests performed and no positive cases detected (positivity rate 0%)
