The Foreign Ministry welcomes the adoption of a Resolution by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, calling for the immediate return of the enclosed town of Varosha to its lawful inhabitants. The Resolution stresses that Turkey's ongoing illegal actions, including the partial "opening" of the enclosed town, constitute serious violations of the UN Security Council Resolutions, which undermine the prospects of reaching a comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus problem.

The Foreign Ministry expresses its appreciation for the support of the Parliamentary Assembly for the efforts of the UN Secretary General for the resumption of the negotiation process and for the call for the resumption of the negotiation process.
