According to the instructions of the competent authority, due to the extremely difficult conditions of the pandemic, it was decided that in case a substitute teacher, during his/her period of service in a public school, becomes ill with COVID-19, the salary for the days of absence falling within the substitution period will be paid. In addition, the days of absence will be counted for seniority recognition purposes.

Therefore, substitute teachers will be required to present to the Principal/Head of School a certificate of illness issued by the Ministry of Health or the message they receive on their cell phone for release.

This directive has immediate effect.
