[PIO] Announcement by the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research on pollen in the Limassol sea area

The Department of Fisheries and Marine Research (DFA) wishes to inform the public that, following the collection and evaluation of relevant water samples, the yellowish substances that appeared in the sea and on various beaches along the coastlines of Cyprus appear to be pollen due to the flowering of trees. This phenomenon, from the information available so far, is most pronounced in the Limassol sea area. It is noted that similar phenomena have occurred in the past during spring.
