[PIO] Announcement by the Cyprus School of Magistrates regarding a training seminar on the new Civil Procedure Rules for recently appointed judges

The training seminar on the new Civil Procedure Rules for recently appointed Judges was successfully completed on 29 September at the Supreme Court

The aim of the seminar was for participants to understand and become familiar with the purpose, the general framework and especially the philosophy of the new Rules. Particular emphasis was placed on specific parts of the new Rules, as well as on skills such as case and time management.

Participants had the opportunity to take part in a plenary discussion and case study, with the discussion being moderated by District Court President Mr. Philip Timotheou, and District Judge Mrs. Adriana Solomonidou.

The Director of the School of Magistrates, Mr. George Erotokritou, in his welcome address, expressed his conviction that everyone, judges and lawyers, will contribute to the full success of the implementation of the new Regulations and the consolidation of the new philosophy they introduce.

He also stressed that in the first stages of implementation of the new Regulations it is normal and to be expected that some minor problems may arise. However, these should not be feared because judges and lawyers will be able to manage them for the good of justice.

The Training Programme on the new Civil Procedure Rules is part of the Judicial School's funding from the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
