The Consumer Protection Service, taking into account the risks posed by inflatables and other water/water equipment, especially during the summer months, when the market is full of such equipment and their use is widespread, is carrying out a control and information campaign covering the period 25/06/2024-05/07/2024.
In particular, the campaign will cover the following product categories:
- Bathing aids,
- Water toys,
- Floating leisure articles and
- Swimming pools for young children.
The aim of the campaign is to ensure that the above products comply with the requirements of the legislation and the applicable safety standards. This campaign will cover approximately 130 sales outlets nationwide, where on-site inspections will be carried out in order to identify and withdraw dangerous inflatables and other marine/water equipment, to take corrective measures for non-compliant products, as well as to inform economic operators.
Finally, in the context of informing consumers in order to better protect their health and safety, the Service informs that on its website there is posted information material for «Φουσκωτά και άλλα είδη θαλάσσης/νερού», as well as "Tips for safe use of Inflatable Pools".
