It is a great pleasure to be here in Vouni and to put under my auspices the Palouse Festival. A festival that has established itself as an institution for the local community and which contributes to the revival and promotion of the tradition, customs and traditions of the region.
This traditional product of Palouse has been part of our heritage for more than two centuries. This event showcases the rich history of our island in the production of wine and other wine products, highlighting the character of the Cypriot land and its people.
The community of Vouni, although small in size, has a unique and important place in the world of viticulture. The presence of thousands of visitors every year at the Festival shows the important role that you, as a community, play in promoting culture, Cypriot culture, while highlighting the hospitality of the people of the area.
The presence of the Ministry of Interior confirms that it stands by the communities, in the countryside and in the mountainous areas. It is one of our priorities, after all, to further strengthen, progress and develop them, as well as to improve the quality of life of their inhabitants.
Congratulating the Chairman and members of the Community Council for this wonderful event, as well as all the contributors, I wish you all good fun.
