It is with great pleasure that I attend today the inauguration ceremony of the new buildings of the Primary School and the Public Kindergarten of Saint Lazarus I - Christoforos Christofides. The official handover of modern in design, functional and safe school premises can only evoke feelings of satisfaction, excitement and enthusiasm in all of us.
This project, with a total cost of more than three million euros, was completed under the previous government and is practical proof of the State's interest in upgrading school buildings and their equipment, as a means of improving the education provided to our children.
With the complete completion of the building of the Elementary School and the Public Kindergarten of St. Lazarus I - Christoforos Christofides, a vision of many years is taking shape. A vision for the future, full of opportunities and possibilities for every child, who will live in this place during the precious years of their school life. Dear children, dear teachers, ladies and gentlemen,
We are very happy about the project we are launching today and we warmly thank the institutions that contributed to its implementation, as well as all those who worked for this purpose. In particular, I express the State's and my own thanks to the Presidents and Members of the Larnaca School Ephorate and the Parents' and Guardians' Associations of the Primary School and the Public Kindergarten Agios Lazaros A for their fruitful and constructive cooperation.
I would also like to thank the Director of Technical Services and his team for the continuous monitoring of the project until its full completion. Finally, I would like to thank and congratulate the managements and staff of the two schools for the remarkable pedagogical work they carry out on a daily basis and for the event they have organised today, together with the children, who are at the heart of all our goals and aspirations.
So today, let us all celebrate together for this new beginning and let us continue to work and cooperate for a better tomorrow for our children and for our country!
