It was with great pleasure that we gathered today for the acceptance ceremony of the donation of a modern semi inflatable boat from Safe Bulkers Incorporated.

The addition of this vessel to the fleet of the Naval Command of the General Staff of the National Guard (GNEF) will enhance our ability to respond with immediacy, precision and efficiency to the challenges that arise in Search and Rescue incidents.

Due to its equipment, it will provide an operational benefit both in terms of the ability to rapidly move to the incident area and the ability to successfully execute the operation under adverse weather conditions.

It is for this reason that I express my sincere public thanks to the CEO of the company, Mr.

His donation is a generous act that demonstrates your love for your special country and reflects your dedication and interest in the safety of its citizens, as well as in upgrading the capabilities of our Armed Forces.

His donation is a generous act that demonstrates your love for your special country and reflects your dedication and interest in the safety of its citizens, as well as in upgrading the capabilities of our Armed Forces.

With this new vessel at our disposal, I assure you that we will continue to respond in the best possible way to the needs of our fellow human beings and fulfil our mission with a sense of duty and professionalism.

Ladies and gentlemen,

The recent crises in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East have attested to the enhanced role of the Republic of Cyprus as a pillar of security and stability, cooperation and understanding in the wider region.

Typical examples are the recent contribution to the international efforts for evacuation and reception of civilians and our contribution to the "AMALTHIA" project for the management of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

In this context, one of the most important tools for fulfilling and upgrading this role is undoubtedly the Search and Rescue System.

As the Republic of Cyprus in recent years, fully aware of our obligations under the Conventions and Regulations of International Organizations, we have set as a priority the creation of a complete and reliable Search and Rescue System.

Invariably, today we have one of the most modern Centres in Europe, which is a model for States wishing to organise their own Search and Rescue System. We are very proud of this.

In concluding these few thoughts, I would like once again to express my sincere thanks to Safe Bulkers Incorporated for its kind and commendable sponsorship.

With your practical support, you are helping to upgrade and implement the plans of the Ministry of Defence.

Thank you.
