It is with great pleasure that we welcome today at the Ministry of Defence the Rector of the University of Limassol Dr Theodoros Panayiotou and other guests to the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation between our Ministry and the University of Limassol.

This event adds another important step towards achieving our goal of meaningful and constructive cooperation with our entire academic community. The memorandum that we are about to co-sign marks the beginning of a fruitful and systematic dialogue aimed at promoting joint educational and other programmes.

They will include, among other things, joint participation in research projects, exchange of information and data, cooperation in education and training, joint participation in technocratic-level committees and development of technological applications of common interest. In addition, the exchange of knowledge and the utilization of know-how will be pursued by both sides.

Dear Rector, the specialization of your University in particularly important areas, and the excellent academic and specialized professional training of your staff are elements of particular added value for our Ministry in the institutionalization of our cooperation.

In conclusion, I convey to you the thanks and satisfaction of the Minister of Defence for the signing of our Memorandum of Cooperation with the wish that the objectives set will be implemented and form the basis for further deepening of our relations.

Thank you.
