I am very happy to be with you today at the festival of culture and coexistence that you have organized. I want to congratulate the St. Maron Primary School for the initiative to bring us all together here today to bring our intangible cultural heritage to life together. The traditions and living expressions that have been handed down from our ancestors. The oral traditions, social practices, customs, festivals and ceremonies related to nature and the stages of life. The knowledge and techniques for creating handicrafts.
The protection of intangible heritage is an important factor in preserving cultural diversity. Understanding the intangible cultural heritage of different communities enhances intercultural dialogue and encourages mutual respect for different ways of life, while enriching the knowledge and skills transmitted through culture from one generation to the next.
Today's meeting is just the beginning. I invite you to continue your actions. Identify and study the items inscribed on the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Invite craftsmen and creators to the school. Talk to them.
Our intangible cultural heritage records stories. Listen to these stories and create a meaningful relationship with them. Keep our intangible cultural heritage alive.
The Secretary of State for Culture, and I personally, believe deeply in the power of culture and the arts to shape whole people and a more beautiful world. And we want all of you to join us on the journey of getting to know and promoting our culture and the values it stands for.
If we invest in values we can transform our world into a world of acceptance and inclusion. A world that invests in its roots and culture so that it can gain wings solid for new journeys of creation.
The new generation, you children, are our hope for a better tomorrow.
We are planning and will implement programmes in cooperation with the Ministry of Education through which you will come into contact with our culture. What we want is for cultural education to be an integral part of your education and to cultivate your emotional intelligence.
Through the arts, we want you, my dear children, to be able to express opinions and feelings, to discover and cultivate your talents.
Part of the pilot implementation of the "Schools Ambassadors of Culture - Pupils Ambassadors of Culture" programme, which is being planned, is the investment in getting to know the intangible cultural heritage, which is being implemented in pilot form today with your help. The aim of the Deputy Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth is to implement it in other schools during the next school year, 2024-2025.
I am very happy to share today's journey of knowledge and experience with you. I wish our conference every success and I look forward to learning with you.
