The General Secretary of the Workers' Party of the Working People (AKEL), Mr Stefanos Stefanou, arrived today at the "Iona and Kolokasi" Gerios Gymnasium polling centre, where he exercised his electoral right.
Subsequently, Mr Stefanou made the following statement. Besides, everything we had to say we said during the election period, both for local government and for the European elections. Now is the time of the citizens. They are called upon to send their own messages for Cyprus and Europe. They are invited to send messages about what they will demand for Cyprus and Europe. The power of the citizens is their vote. We call on citizens to use this power with calculation and conscience. We call on citizens to participate so that they do not let others decide for them. I wish everyone a good vote, a good job to those who are at the polling stations. It will be a long day. I think everything will go well."
Asked to comment on the process as it is a new process for everyone with the double election, he said: "Yes, it is a fact. Of course we will evaluate that at the end of the day, to see what problems are created, if any problems are created. When you are informed I think you spend some time and you vote."
