Larnaca Airport has faced a nasty situation due to a fake Facebook page, Cyprus Mail reports.

The Larnaca Airport account claimed to sell passengers' lost luggage for 2.99€ per suitcase. The post on this page explained that the airport management allegedly decided to get rid of unclaimed luggage from the last 9 months, because the storage facilities are full and the owners of the suitcases have not been found. Photos of suitcases laid out in rows or in a pile were also published, among them yellow price tags.

An airport official speaking to Cyprus Mail confirmed that the page was fake and said that the authorities have already been informed in order to block the page. Some photos of the luggage and the airport itself were taken from Hermes' official website, but the added price tag is fake.
