Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that vaccinated Ukrainians over 60 will receive a free smartphone with discounted bills.

"Two years ago, we launched digital education courses for the elderly, and in the spring we implemented a new government programme. All Ukrainians who have been vaccinated and are over the age of 60 will get a free good quality modern mobile smartphone with a discounted account," the Ukrainian president said at the Diia Summit forum of the Ministry of Digitalization.

The Diia Summit unveiled more than 10 new digital services, including services for pensioners and drivers, and other digital programs.

Currently, Ukraine is operating the "e-support" program, which compensates Ukrainians who get vaccinated with a sum of about $35.

Within a week the government will decide on the expansion of the program. Currently, this amount can be received by Ukrainian citizens aged 14 and older who have had two doses of the vaccine.
